On 01 April we visited Lynx Winery near Franschhoek on the occasion of the launch of their 2017 Blanc de Noir. It is made from Merlot and reminded us of the elegant rose wines we enjoy on our trips to France. Its colour is the most delicate pale onion-skin pink and the flavours have a hint of strawberry and gentle spice. What I enjoyed most was the dryness and the gentle acid….. I’m certain it will be my ‘go to quaffer’ next summer. With an alcohol level of 12,5% you can enjoy plenty on a hot day!

I would serve it ice cold with sushi or a salad at lunch time!

Lynx winery owned by Dieter and Diana Sellmeyer and is open for tastings.

They offer an exciting range of other wines.

I also enjoyed the Vino Blanco, a delicious Rhone style blend  of viognier, roussanne and grenache blanc.

The 2015 Cab Franc is sold out …… can’t wait to taste the next vintage, as the latter was delicious!

They also make a Grenache, one of my favourites, and my Mark loves the Pinot Noir.
